Overview
The baby shower gifts parents remember are the ones they use every day. Feeding happens eight or more times a day at first, so a good bottle set ends up in their hands at 3 am and on the table when friends come over.
Check the registry first If there's a registry, it tells you what they want. Bottles are often on it, in the brand and size they've already picked.
Going off-list? Keep it small and easy to exchange. Babies have opinions about bottles, and a gift that can be swapped takes the pressure off.
Give the version they wouldn't buy New parents buy the practical version of nearly everything. A gift is your chance to hand them the nicer one.

A short list that gets used
| Gift | How often it's used | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| A glass bottle set | Every bottle feed, for most of the first year | For a newborn, pick 5 oz with a slow nipple. |
| Spare nipples | Every feed, and they wear out before the bottles do | Match the bottle brand. Nipples usually only fit their own brand's bottles. |
| Burp cloths | Every feed, every day | Six is where you start, not a lot. |
| A meal, or someone to clean | The first few weeks | It's on no registry, and almost nobody turns it down. |

How to give bottles well
- Pick the small size. 5 oz bottles suit the early months. Bigger ones come later, if at all. [1]
- Choose a slow flow. Most newborns start on the slowest nipple or the one after it.
- Check the return policy. Opened bottles often can't go back. Look for an exchange or guarantee in case the baby won't take them.
- Write down what's inside. Size, flow and how to clean it, on the card. Tired parents will thank you.
Our bottles as a gift
We wanted a bottle you'd leave out on the counter, and one that's straight with you about what it does.
- The Wrapped Glass Bottle: borosilicate glass with food-grade silicone molded on, in Ronini orange. Soft to hold. It absorbs most drops and contains the glass if it does break. 2-pack, $60 for 5 oz or $64 for 8 oz.
- The Duo: a Wrapped Glass 2-pack and a Glass 2-pack in the same size, so there's a plain glass bottle for warming too. $90 for 5 oz, $95 for 8 oz.
- The Baby Love Guarantee: if the baby doesn't take to the bottle, the parents can contact us within 30 days of delivery. We'll help with feeding, swap the nipple flow for free, or refund them.
Everything that touches the milk is glass or food-grade silicone. The independent lab report is on our safety page.

Frequently asked questions
Are baby bottles a good baby shower gift?
Yes, especially if they're on the registry. Off-list, pick a small set in a slow flow that's easy to exchange. Some babies take a while to accept a bottle.
What size bottles should I give for a newborn?
5 oz, about 160 ml. Early feeds are small, and many breastfed babies never need bigger bottles. Formula-fed babies often move to 8 oz around 6 months.
What's a luxury baby shower gift that actually gets used?
Something they'll touch every day, made better than it has to be. A glass bottle set gets picked up at every feed for most of a year. It never ends up in a drawer.
Can parents exchange bottles if the baby won't take them?
With Ronini, yes. The Baby Love Guarantee runs 30 days from delivery and covers feeding help, a free nipple-flow exchange, or a refund.
